Limited awareness of legal, civic, and socio-economic rights continues to hinder women and girls from fully participating in society and claiming their entitlements. Harmful social norms, gender stereotypes, and misinformation further restrict community engagement in advancing gender equality and accountability.
WLAC aims to enhance community knowledge and engagement on gender equality and socio-economic rights. Through targeted awareness campaigns, civic education, and participatory initiatives, WLAC will empower women, men, youth, and community leaders to understand and exercise their rights. These interventions will also promote inclusive dialogue, challenge discriminatory norms, and encourage active participation in governance and socio-economic decision-making processes.
By increasing rights awareness and fostering community engagement, WLAC seeks to create informed, empowered, and proactive communities that support gender equality, protect womens and girls rights, and contribute to more equitable socio-economic development.
